Charles Dufour is a breakout star in the world of natural Champagne, representing the next generation of small grower-producers. Farming six hectares of certified organic vines, many planted by his grandfather, he has been crafting wines from his family’s vineyards in Celles-sur-Ource since 2010. His approach is distinctly biodynamic, a bold challenge in Champagne’s unpredictable climate.
In addition to the Bistrotage range, Dufour is also known for his Bulles de Comptoir series, an innovative project that highlights his creative approach to Champagne. Each edition of Bulles de Comptoir is a unique, ever-evolving blend that showcases the character of the vintage and terroir, often incorporating a mix of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Blanc. These wines are vinified with the same low-intervention philosophy, featuring extended lees aging, low dosage, and a focus on expressing purity and energy.
