The name means changing skies, and it fits the Jura perfectly: a region where the weather, the soils, and the winemaking can all shift within a single hillside. Les Ciels Changeants is one of the young projects making the region's new wave so exciting, working Chardonnay and Savagnin from the Côtes du Jura into wines that are precise, mineral, and quietly confident.
What we love here is the way the two grapes converse across the range. The Chardonnays lean orchard fruit and crushed stone, with the kind of tension that makes you slow down. The Savagnins bring the region's signature salinity and drive, fresh rather than oxidative, all cut and energy. Taste them side by side across the two vintages we carry and you get a small masterclass in what modern Jura white wine can be.
Production is tiny and these do not linger, but as of this writing everything on the page is in stock, which is rare enough for a producer at this level that we will say it twice: in stock. If the Jura is new territory for you, start with our guide to the region's grapes, then wander the full Jura collection. These want Comté, trout, or a plate of good ham and little else.
