Phillip Hedderman, a Scottish winemaker, launched the Les Ciels Changeants project in 2022 after refining his skills in New Zealand, Burgundy, and building an impressive resume in renowned cellars such as Pascal Marchand, Domaine Dujac, David Croix, and Ata Rangi. Captivated by the Jura region, he settled in Nevy-Sur-Seille, where he crafts pure, terroir-driven Savagnin and Chardonnay with minimal intervention.
About the Producer
Les Ciels Changeants is the exciting project of Phillip Hedderman, a Scottish winemaker whose winding path, from New Zealand to prestigious Burgundy cellars including Domaine Dujac, Pascal Marchand, and David Croix, eventually led him to settle in Nevy-sur-Seille in the Jura. Launched in 2022, the project focuses on Savagnin and Chardonnay from small parcels of east-facing grey marl soils in the Côtes du Jura, where Phillip crafts wines of crystalline purity and mineral precision using strictly low-intervention methods. The name, "the Changing Skies", captures both the mercurial Jura climate and Phillip's own nomadic journey to this corner of eastern France. Already producing some of the most compelling and terroir-driven white wines to emerge from a new Jura producer in years.
