🍇 Grape: Aramon/Grenache/Cinsault

🌍 Country: France

📍 Region: Rhone Valley

🍃 Viticulture practice: Organic

The 2023 L'Anglore "Chemin de la Brune" Vin de France is one of Eric Pfifferling's most idiosyncratic cuvées — a light, chillable red led by Aramon, a nearly-forgotten old southern grape, blended with Grenache and Cinsault. AOC rules don't allow Aramon, hence the Vin de France label. Red fruit, fresh herbs, white pepper, translucent low-tannin build — best with a light chill. Wild yeasts, no added sulfur, no fining, no filtration. 2023 was more temperate than the hot 2022; this cuvée came in with more lift than usual. Distinct from the Tavels: looser, zippier, more experimental.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

Domaine de l'Anglore, led by the visionary winemaker Eric Pfifferling, is a benchmark for natural and organic wines in France. Located in Tavel, the estate is renowned for its commitment to biodynamic practices and low-intervention winemaking, producing limited quantities of highly sought-after vintages. Each bottle from L'Anglore reflects the purest expression of the terroir, making it a favorite among collectors and natural wine enthusiasts worldwide.

About the Producer

L'Anglore is the domaine of Eric Pfifferling, one of the Rhône Valley's most celebrated and idiosyncratic natural wine producers, based in the village of Tavel near Avignon. Working from old-vine Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan, and Clairette on ancient sand, galets roulés, and limestone terroirs, Eric produces a small range of low-intervention, artisan wines, from his benchmark Tavel rosé to skin-contact whites and profound reds, that capture the wild, sun-drenched spirit of the southern Rhône unlike anything else. Farmed organically without herbicides and vinified with native yeasts and minimal sulfur, L'Anglore's limited-production cuvées are among the most sought-after and intellectually exciting bottles in all of France. A domaine that has built its reputation entirely on the honesty and depth of its wines.
