About this wine
The 2017 Pascal Hénin Blanc Comme Neige, dégorgé 2022, is a later-disgorged release from Pascal Hénin's vintage Blanc de Blancs program — five years on lees in bottle before disgorgement, giving the wine extra autolytic depth, brioche, and toasted nut character you don't find in earlier-disgorged versions of the same base. 100% Chardonnay from a single Champagne vintage, wild yeasts, minimal dosage, low-intervention cellar work. 2017 was a challenging Champagne vintage marked by frost and rot pressure — the wines that survived ripened into focused, structured Champagnes with bright acidity. Extended lees aging amplifies that tension. Expect green apple, lemon zest, brioche, hazelnut, almond skin, fine chalky minerality, taut mousse. Drinks beautifully now through 2032.
About Pascal Hénin and Champagne Hénin
Pascal Hénin is a small grower-Champagne producer (Récoltant-Manipulant) farming a tiny estate in the Marne, working in the natural-Champagne tradition: low-intervention viticulture, wild-yeast fermentation, long aging on lees, minimal dosage. The Blanc Comme Neige cuvée is his pure Chardonnay expression — a Blanc de Blancs from a single vintage, often released in limited disgorgement runs and labeled by base vintage rather than blended NV. The wines are tightly allocated, rarely seen outside Europe, and increasingly sought-after among collectors of grower Champagne.
