Not all Champagne is created equal. The bottles from the large Maisons — the Moëts, the Veuve Clicquots, the Taittingers — are blended for consistency across millions of bottles and express a house style rather than a place. Grower Champagne is something entirely different: wine made by the same family that farmed the vines, expressing the specific geology and microclimate of their particular village.
At Voilà Wine, our sparkling selection is built almost entirely around grower producers who farm organically or biodynamically and make wine with minimal intervention. Producers like Charles Dufour in the Côte des Bar, Feneuil Emilien in the Marne, Jacques Lassaigne in Montgueux, and Legrand Latour bring a viticulture-first philosophy to Champagne that the large houses simply cannot replicate at scale.
Grower Champagne pairs beautifully with oysters, fried chicken, aged Parmesan, and sea urchin. It also makes one of the best aperitif wines on earth — complex enough to sip alone, lively enough to wake up the palate before a meal.
