A new generation of female winemakers in Meursault.
Anne Boisson, the daughter of famous winemaker Bernard Boisson-Vadot, manages 1.5 hectares of vineyard on the family estate, which spans 8.5 hectares (3.5 hectares for her parents under Domaine Boisson-Vadot, 3.5 hectares for her brother, Pierre Boisson). The Boisson estate, located in Meursault, produces wines from various appellations, including Meursault, Auxey-Duresses, and Bourgogne Aligoté.
The Boisson family works in harmony with nature, respecting natural processes in both vineyard management and winemaking. Vineyard work includes no added fertilizers, tilled plots, and manual harvesting. In the cellar, only indigenous yeasts are used, wines undergo long aging in barrels, and bottling occurs without filtration.
Among the domaine’s most notable wines are the Meursault "Les Grands Charrons" (from over 25-year-old vines), "Les Chevalières," and the prestigious Meursault 1er Cru "Les Genevrières." The "Sous la Velle" cuvée is sourced from 60-year-old vines. Once a lesser-known estate, Domaine Anne Boisson has quickly risen to become one of Burgundy’s most exciting names.
