Pierre-Henri Rougeot is a young and talented vigneron with deep family roots in Meursault. Having grown up immersed in vineyard work and winemaking alongside his father, he pursued formal studies in Beaune before setting out on his own path. In 2017, he launched his own boutique production, crafting wines with a philosophy of minimal intervention and a deep respect for organic farming.
Pierre-Henri’s wines are sourced from his family’s organically farmed vineyards in Volnay, Meursault, Pommard, and Gevrey-Chambertin. His production remains small-scale, often just one to four barrels per cuvée, allowing him to focus on precision and quality. His winemaking approach includes whole-cluster maceration for reds, wild yeast fermentation, and aging in neutral barrels. Whites are directly pressed into barrels and aged on the lees without bâtonnage, preserving their purity and vibrancy.
Pierre-Henri follows a natural approach, using no sulfur until bottling and avoiding fining and filtration. His wines are expressive, terroir-driven, and showcase the elegance of Burgundy with an unfiltered and raw energy. His inaugural vintage in 2017 set the tone for an exciting journey, positioning him as a rising star in the new wave of Burgundy winemakers.
