About the Producer
Château Pontet-Canet is one of Bordeaux's most dramatic transformation stories, a 5th Grand Cru Classé estate in Pauillac that has risen to the very summit of the Médoc classification through a radical conversion to biodynamic and horse-farmed viticulture under Alfred and Justine Tesseron. Working without synthetic treatments, fermenting in cement eggs and concrete tanks, and bottling with minimal sulfur, Pontet-Canet now produces wines of extraordinary depth and transparency, wines that consistently rival and sometimes surpass the First Growths at a fraction of the price. Low-intervention and terroir-driven to its core, it is today one of the greatest estates in the world and a beacon for sustainable farming in Bordeaux.
