Founded in 1886, Domaine du Petit Pérou is a historic family estate in the heart of Beaujolais, now in the hands of the fifth generation. Led by Hugo and his friend Paul—both graduates of top viticulture programs—the domaine blends tradition with modern sustainability.
Nestled in the appellations of Morgon and Brouilly, the domaine primarily grows Gamay, alongside recent plantings of Chardonnay and even Syrah, offering a rare take on Beaujolais terroir.
Committed to sustainable practices, the estate is certified Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE), avoids herbicides, and is preparing for organic certification. Their reds undergo traditional carbonic maceration, while whites and Syrah are cold-fermented for maximum purity and finesse. Aging takes place in large-format oak barrels (demi-muids), preserving freshness while adding subtle complexity.
Domaine du Petit Pérou is a standout in Beaujolais, marrying old-vine heritage with progressive winemaking and a deep respect for the land.
