From the lower slopes of Nicolas Jacob's original parcel in L'Étoile, planted in 1983 on marl soils. Là-Bas (meaning "down there") is a pure, mineral-driven Chardonnay that captures the essence of southern Jura terroir. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in 228L barrels and raised with minimal intervention — no fining, no filtration, no added sulfur.
Nicolas Jacob trained alongside Jean-François Ganevat and at the legendary Domaine Macle before launching his own project in 2015. Working under organic and biodynamic principles across 6 hectares of vines in the Sud-Revermont, he has quickly established himself as one of the Jura's most exciting young talents. His wines are crafted plot by plot, revealing the subtle geological variations of this ancient terroir.
Tasting: Bright citrus, green apple, and crushed limestone on the nose. The palate is taut and focused with vibrant acidity, lemon pith, and a saline mineral finish that lingers beautifully.
