100% Poulsard from the predominantly triassic marl sections of the 2.5-hectare Les Chazaux vineyard, with vines dating from plantings in 1982, 1985, and 1992. The grapes are destemmed and fermented in demi-muids with no punch-downs or pump-overs, then aged for extended élevage before bottling. Unfined, unfiltered, zero sulfur.
Poulsard is the Jura's most delicate and ethereal red grape — paper-thin skins produce pale, translucent wines of extraordinary perfume and finesse. In Jacob's hands, Les Chazaux Poulsard is a masterclass in restraint and terroir expression.
Tasting: Pale ruby with garnet hues. Intoxicating aromas of wild strawberry, rose petal, dried herbs, and forest floor. Featherlight on the palate with gossamer tannins, a saline mineral thread, and a finish that drifts on and on.
