About the Producer Thomas Popy is one of the Jura's most quietly celebrated and reclusive producers, a Beaujolais native who trained under Julie Balagny, Michel Guignier, and the legendary Pierre Overnoy before settling in the village of Mesnay near Arbois...
The Loire Valley is France's most diverse wine region, stretching 1,000 kilometres from the Atlantic coast to the heart of the country. It is the spiritual home of natural wine, producing some of the most singular and age-worthy bottles in France: oxidatively complex Chenin Blanc from Anjou and Vouvray, mineral Muscadet from the coast, wild Gamay from Touraine, and the legendary Sauvignon Blanc of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé.
At Voilà Wine, the Loire is one of our deepest areas of focus. We carry producers who represent the best of the region's natural wine movement — including cult Anjou vigneron Stéphane Bernaudeau, whose biodynamic old-vine Chenin Blanc is among the most sought-after natural wines in the world, and François Cotat, one of Sancerre's most iconic and uncompromising producers.
Loire wines are defined by their electric acidity, mineral tension, and extraordinary food-friendliness. They are wines for the table — and for cellaring. If you are new to the Loire, start with a Muscadet or an entry-level Chenin Blanc. If you are already a convert, you know why these bottles are worth seeking out.
